NURTURING THE WHOLE CHILD

We share Socrates' belief in the power of inquisitive learning by kindling in children a passion for self-discovery that will persist throughout their lives. To ignite this enthusiasm, we encourage children to journey forward on a personal path where inquiry, creativity, and reflection guide their way.

DISCOVERY

Grades 1-5

By nature, young children as budding learners are inquisitive and creative. They are fascinated with every discovery they make. The elementary curriculum taught through our Discovery Program aims at harnessing the playful energy deep within every child, transforming it into a love for knowledge, inquiry and learning. The curriculum is based on engaging activities developed to build upon children's interests and ignite their curiosity. Our blended model combines digital curriculum with textbook-based learning. The curriculum is developed to support the development of the whole child and aligns with our Socratic philosophy, reinforcing fundamental skills and concepts in a fun, hands-on and technological environment. Lessons are developed to explore the meaning behind content learned and align with practical application of concepts to everyday life.

Students are placed in classes that match their social and academic needs. Student evaluation and placement is considered on an ongoing basis during the academic year. This practice is key to ensuring that students are moving forward and challenged and/or provided the necessary enrichment and support in areas of challenge. This may or may not conform with their traditional grade-level. Students have a custom schedule that best suit their social and academic needs regardless of grade level.

FOUNDATIONS

Grades 6-8

Adolescence is a challenging and trans-formative milestone for young teens. At that age young teens are faced with their constantly changing physical, social and emotional realities. It is also the time when their childhood curiosity blossoms into real-life adventures. This is the reason why young teen-hood is the milestone with the most significant foundation. Our program, FOUNDATIONS, ranging in grades from 6 to 8 is designed to be sensitive to the delicate and complex state of early teen experience. Content and activities including social, emotional, physical and academic experiences are integrated into students' daily educational experience through instruction, reflection, coaching, mentoring, and projects based on real-life authentic explorations and problem solving. Young teens are fascinated with discovering their passion and their sense of self-worth. Our program and curriculum fosters opportunities to allow our students to embark on a journey of self-discovery to unearth their talents and find their personal purpose. We use a  blended model combining digital curriculum with textbooks. The curriculum is developed to support the development of the whole child and aligns with our Socratic philosophy, reinforcing fundamental skills and concepts in a creative, exciting, hands-on and technological environment. Lessons are developed to explore the meaning behind content learned and align with practical application of concepts to everyday life.

PREPARATORY

Grades 9-12

High school is a significant milestone in students' social, emotional, and academic development. It is the time when teens/young adults are facing new realities and experiences. Uncertainties over present and future responsibilities, lifelong direction, and independence are among the primary issues that may hinder student progress and readiness. On one hand, teens/young adults are generally excited to embark on a new independent, grownup life journey, and on the other hand, they may have doubts and insecurities. The Preparatory Program covering high school grades 9 to 12 offers our student a balanced, personalized, yet rigorous college preparatory program to coach them on the critical soft and academic skills and knowledge they need to successfully and confidently transition to college. Our curriculum and graduation requirements meet and exceeds Florida Department of Education (FDOE) requirements by providing the following:
